I want to install Commentics on an existing website that relies on magic quotes being switched ON but Commentics is telling me to switch them off.

Will I have to change my website to work without magic quotes?!

Hi,

Unfortunately yes, Magic Quotes must be disabled on a global level, so if you have other scripts on your website which rely on Magic Quotes being enabled then you will need to change these scripts so they no longer rely on it. It's a good move to make because Magic Quotes was deprecated in PHP 5.3 and it's completely removed in the current version of PHP (5.4).
