I was notified today via email that "A new user, with the IP address 2001:8b0:856:1::34, has been banned for the following reason: Banned name entered."
I did not ban anyone - and that's not a valid IP address anyway.
How could this have happened?
I've been using commentics for over 2 years and never had anything like this.
Has my admin been hacked into?
I changed the password just to be sure.
Anyone else ever have this kind of issue?

That is in fact a valid IP address.

If you go to 'Settings -> Processor -> Name' and click on the 'Banned Name' link then it's likely that the user entered a name in that list.

I see - so you are saying that because a user attempted to use one of the words on the banned name list, I automatically received an email stating "A new user, with the IP address 2001:8b0:856:1::34, has been banned for the following reason: Banned name entered."

Perfect! I was confused because I never saw an IP address formatted that way.
