I don't get a lot of spam comments and the system handles hem ok - the key setting is requiring approval of any comment with a link.

.. but they do annoy me, so I was wondering if it would be possible to do a bit more than just passively block them and specifically whether it would be possible to include reporting to a spam blocking site such as Spamcop. Are there settings to do this which I have missed and/or is this something you have thought about?

There's a built-in module called Akismet. Not sure if you're using that? I could extend that so it can report "spam" and "ham" back to their system. I think that would make the most sense because it's already partially integrated.

Although I think the best line of defence is stopping them from being posted in the first place. What do you have enabled in terms of captchas and other methods?
