Have you considered adding private messaging to Commentics?

Hi Gabe,

Yes I've considered this idea before. I think it's a great feature but it may be more suited to something like a forum where there's a bigger focus on membership and accounts. Having said that, Commentics v3 will take a small step in that direction (for example by ensuring unique names and showing each user's post count) so depending on feedback it could happen in the future.
