ip address changing
#1

Hi all,

I have been exploring commentics and tried to import some comments from a comment script I was using. I have imported the datetime, and ip address related to each comment etc but when I go to the webpage with the commentics form and comments the ip address changes to 00.00.00.00 in the database.

Can anyone advise if it possible to prevent the changing of the ip addresses which were manually updated in the database?

Hi,

Sure, just go to Tasks -> Del Comment IPs and deselect Enabled.

There's some more info about it here:

Hi again,

I have two more questions.

1) Is it possible to add text at the bottom of the text box to state for e.g "You have 1000 characters remaining"

2) Can I close comment entries on individual pages.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

1. At the moment the way in which the character count is displayed makes it difficult to add surrounding text. I'll look into improving this for the next version.

2. Yes you can do this by going to Manage -> Pages, editing the page, and changing the 'Form Enabled' setting to 'No'.
