This might seem simple to you, but what does:

"Rename the upload folder /upload/" mean?
Am I to rename the upload folder in the unzipped folder to say "robert"? In which case I would then have
"/robert/backend" to which the next instruction says I should rename /upload/backend. If I have renamed /upload/ to /robert/, then if I rename backend to say, smith I should have a folder "robert" containing other folders, one of which is named "smith"?
And I should then proceed with the next instruction:
Upload the programme (upload folder) to your website. so that would be, upload the folder "robert" to the server?
next instruction create a database, fine I can do that.
Next instruction:
Run the installer your-domain.com/upload/install. Would that be in this case,  my-domain.com/robert/install or my-domain.com/upload/install?

Hi everything you've said is correct and it would be my-domain.com/robert/install.

Are you following the short instructions or the more detailed ones here? There's also a link on that page to a YouTube video where I've shown visually how to install it.

Do you have any suggestions to make it easier? I was thinking if the /upload/ folder was already suitably named to /commentics/ then that whole step could be skipped and that in turn might make it easier to rename the /backend/ folder as the instruction would simply be to rename the /commentics/backend/ folder. I'd like to make it easier because I've noticed a few people have installed it incorrectly.

Every time I try to read an unopen post it errors out. Nevertheless. Having tried both integrations I get no comment forms in either. I called the php one shelves.php and the other shelves.html. Nothing. Passed all requirements in the Admin.
No idea where to go now?

See http://zapf-taylor.info/shelves.php
and http://zapf-taylor.info/shelves.html
With the PHP one you can see half the script? At the bottom above the footer. Before I put the script right at the body tag I had no footer?

Cheers

Could you be more specific? What errors?

Try this FAQ: https://commentics.com/faq/php-integration/not-showing

Your HTML file doesn't have any of the integration code added to it. I searched the source code for "commentics" and nothing is there.
