After trying everything possible, I was just informed that the loserst chmod permission they provide is 644 for the comments.php. That is they do not allow read only for owner. What do I do now to be able to use this script???

Hi,

Do you mean for comments/includes/db/connect.php ?

If so you could remove that check in comments/admin/index.php

Just delete the code ranging from line 152 to 179.
