Admin access problem

I'm trying to get into my admin panel. I wrote down my username and password but I can't get in. I'm using version 3.1. I have tried several combinations but they don't work. Eventually I get a timeout. I clicked on the help link but the only e-mail that work was an old one and I can't get access to it. I have read several ways to do this on the forum, but I can't seem to find the folders like upload, and the files like phpMyAdmin. I don't have a problem with clearing everything out and redoing it but I'd like to be able to avoid that. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi John,

phpMyAdmin is a tool which allows you to view and edit your database. If you have cPanel then there will be a link to it in there. Your host will be able to advise how to access it. There is a small chance your server doesn't have cPanel / phpMyAdmin, in which case you'll need to use your server's equivalent tool. Regardless of the tool the steps are the same.
