Is it possible to send notifications to users automatically when they are replied to without them having to select the notify me and approve the email? I have a setup where everyone is basically in a single sign-on situation so the system puts all their data in so there is no reason to need to verify any emails since they are all known users.

Hi Tony, the error is "The email is associated with another user", and it's because the form is submitting "Tony" for the name and "tonylewis42.." for the email address, however you seem to already have a user with that email address and a different name. In Commentics an email address can only be used by one person.
It might be because your link to that page hasn't encoded "Tony Smith" properly?
