Hello Steven,
I saw that there are a few more people who wish to be able to expand the fields in the comments form.
If it where possible to add extra fields through the admin panel it would be a great improvement.
People can for instance create, edit, delete custom fields and ask for info like:
adress
telephone
date of birth
etc
etc.
I know this requires a lot of coding, but custom fields creation would turn you commentics system into more than a comment system.
Possiblities after these changes are:
1. comment system with extra options that is included in a existing website
2. creation of a link directory with custom fields and comments
3. yellow pages like websites / directories
Webmasters can not only create completely other websites / comment systems, but also gather more targeted data on users / visitors.
Personally I will try to make these changes for my own, since one needs to change the code at several places and change the database to fit the needs.
But when you bring out an update, this could conflict with the database and overwrite code changes someone would have made.
So I would like to hear your opinion on this
