Your MySQL user account has restricted permissions, namely the 'alter' command. This is an important and commonly used command which you should have permission for. You will have problems with lots of other scripts if you keep it this way.

You need to edit your MySQL user account and give it full permissions.

With cPanel:

1. Find the 'Databases' section and click on the 'MySQL Databases' icon.
2. Find the 'Current Databases' section where you should see a list of databases. In that list, there will be the database you are using for Commentics. Click the User for that database.
3. Select 'All Privileges' and click the 'Make Changes' button.

Your MySQL user account now has the correct permissions.

If you don't use cPanel, you will have to follow the appropriate steps for whatever hosting control panel you have. Ask your host if you're not sure.

Did you make a backup of your database before doing the upgrade? If so, I would restore the backup and start the upgrade again.

Have you completed the interview?
