Thank you for the explanation. I assume that your are not using a search engine plugin? If not, how are you achieving the search and how are you indexing?
I was thinking of modifying the script to include categories and sub-categories. Thus the search can begin on categories=cat and subcategories=sub_cat1. Then having the key fields.
Absolutely, this is why good moderation is needed to keep the board relevant and fresh. I am of the philosophy that comments, topics are a storehouse of knowledge which has to be managed in order to optimize the time of the visitor - this is key to a successful community. Then there is the mindset that you just let anything post except spam and abuse.
