I have tried installing and continuously get the above error even after numerous tries. I've tried to follow the instructions to the letter, creating a database, updating connection.php, uploading comments folder to root, etc., but still getting this error.

What am I doing wrong?

Installation. I run install1.php, enter info and click install.

There may be corrupt or missing files. Try re-uploading the /comments/ folder.

Also try removing the .htaccess file inside the /comments/ folder.

Thanks for your help. It turned out to be simple. I was trying to install using the a control panel window. I switched to installing online and it went smoothly.
