MySQLi extension is required for the database
#1

Hi all
I am running Commentics 1.2
Yes, too old ! but I was quite happy with it until recently. I was unable to login to backend !
Once logged via phpmyadmin I noticed that the page table has more than 24000 entries !!! while I am having only some 70 single pages
I backup up database and files, tried to install the last version when the following error came up:
MySQLi extension is required for the database
The settings are as follow:
Server: Localhost via UNIX socket
Server type: MySQL
Server version: 5.5.35-0+wheezy1-log - (Debian)

So if my host cant enable this extension, what can I do?

Thanks

Hi Chafik,

Your host should definitely be able to enable the MySQLi extension.

The MySQL extension (the one you were previously using) is currently deprecated and will be removed in the future so they have little choice.

Have you completed the interview?
